I returned recently from a visit to South Korea so the events that shaped their history is still much on my mind. I wanted to post an image in remembrance of the beginning of the Korean war and wanted to avoid using a standard shot of the Korean War Memorial or something similar.
I chose to focus on a detail of one of the sets of statuary that is located on the grounds of the Korean War Memorial. I felt this helped to remind us of the victims of war and my creative interpretation is one that evokes chaos, fear and confusion felt by the children represented in this image.
